Areté ("we", "the app") helps you build a personal board of mentors from the people you admire, turn the reels and books that move you into a practical game plan, and ask your mentors questions answered in their voice from their speeches, books, and words. This policy explains what information we handle and how.

Account: your name and email address, used to create and secure your account.

Ambassador program: if you apply for a city slot, the city you're claiming and an optional Instagram handle and Instagram post URL.

Mentors & content: the mentors you add, the Instagram reel URLs you save, any reel audio you record or upload, your book notes, lessons, wisdom, character traits, and inspirations.

Connections: friend connection requests you send or accept.

When you save a reel or record audio, the audio may be transcribed (speech-to-text) and processed by an AI service to extract lessons and actionable steps. Transcripts and AI-generated lessons are stored in your account. AI-generated content is not professional mental-health, financial, or legal advice.

To operate your mentor library and daily practice, generate AI lessons and advice, run the city ambassador program, and provide the features you see in the app. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Your data is stored on our hosting and database providers and may be processed by our AI providers solely to deliver the features above. These providers are bound by their own confidentiality obligations.

We do not use third-party ad networks, cross-app tracking, or GPS location. We do not engage in tracking as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework.

You can delete the mentors, notes, lessons, and inspirations you create from within the app at any time. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at the email below.

Areté is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction) and we do not knowingly collect their data.

We may update this policy as the app evolves. We'll indicate the "last updated" date below whenever we do.
